The head of Oakland Athletics, Billy Bean, is currently keeping himself out of the limelight. Information regarding his well-being was a major concern to many well-wishers.
Sixty-year-old Bean is the current vice president of baseball operations for Oakland Athletics in Major League Baseball (MLB), the club he has spent nearly thirty-one years with, first entering as a scout in 1990.
In addition, Bailey is the minority owner of Barnsley FC for the EFL Championship at AZ Alkmaar and for England at Eredivise, the highest level of professional football in the Netherlands. He played in the MLB as a defensive player for the New York Mets, Detroit Tigers, Oakland Athletics and Minnesota Twins from 1984 to 1989.
Bailey joined the front office of Athletic as a scout in 1990, was appointed general manager after the 1997 season, and after the 2015 season, he was promoted to executive vice president.
