Steve Michael Robert Howey was born on July 12, 1977, to Bill Howey and Carla Novinger, in Texas, USA. His family moved to Denver, Colorado, when he was in high school and after he graduated, he got a two-year basketball scholarship to attend Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado.
