Michael Van Gerwen Wife Daphne Govers Age Difference And Net Worth

Before the illustrious Phil Taylor and 2022 PDC World Darts Championship victor Peter Wright, Michael van Gerwen held the record for the highest earnings in darts history, according to Sports Bible.

The third-ranked player in the world, a 33-year-old Dutch superstar, has three World Darts Championship victories. With his impressive £8.5 million earnings, Van Gerwen outperformed darts great Taylor, who came in second with £7.6 million.

In a similar vein, Celebrity Net Worth estimated its net worth to be around $6 million.

The 33-Years-Old’s Earnings From Championships

At the age of 13, Van Gerwen picked up the game of darts, and when he turned 17, he became the youngest player to win both the 2006 World Masters and the 2007 Masters of Darts, where he threw a televised nine-darter finish.

Van Gerwen, however, struggled to maintain consistency after his initial entrance onto the darts scene until his breakout year in 2012.

He rose from being ranked 38 in the world at the beginning of 2012 to being ranked four at the start of 2013, winning his first major PDC championship at the World Grand Prix and making it to the final of the 2013 World Championship.

In addition to being one of only five players to have won the PDC World Championship more than once, van Gerwen set a record in 2014 by becoming the tournament’s youngest winner at the age of 24.

With a three-dart average of 123.4, he also holds the record for the best three-dart average in a darts match that was broadcast on television.
